remedy

by jake

Officially the first day of holidays and I’ve got nothing to do. Sounds about right doesn’t it. I’m going to resort to Call of Duty 4 or raping facebook for hours.

Didn’t know what to expect prior to downloading this. But A1 Bassline turns out another cracker remix with wobbling bass, dancehall shakes and carnival electro. Get you’re ass shaking.

chommon lee!

I’m not just sharing this because I feel obligated to. I’m not a die hard Jackson fan and I’m not going to name my kids after him. But I think it’s polite to sit back for a second and appreciate what he achieved musically and how he shaped the industry.

Don Diablo – Song For MJ

Michael Jackson -Don’t Stop ‘Till You Get Enough

It’s always comforting when you get sent a gem directly to your inbox. It’s even more exciting when it’s a brand new artist. French national Mister J blesses your speakers/earphones with what can only be described as a ‘Touch’ of french house. You like that?

Mister J – Touch

Back to watching the Rush Hour trilogy. You don’t really realize how annoying Chris Tuckers voice is, until you watch them all in a row. Keep an eye on the blog in the coming week, Heasy and I are unleashing a mixtape.

Did you cough at 2?

by Barron

Today, a 3 hour practice exam for English was a pebble in my shoe, the splinter in my thumb, the sand in my… vagina? on which was an otherwise good day on the music front. This track, most.. will instantly fall in love with, for me and WTRS, this track is very sentimental, because it was played on constant repeat on our intoxicated time spent ripping up Torquay around new years. This track, folks, was playing in such moments as; WTRS speaking to his now girlfriend for the first time, Aaron burning off his pubes with a lighter, finally working out where that smell was coming from (and finding a bag of choof in the couch “score”) and also a person ill leave as anonymous sitting in the lounge trying to get on a fat for an hour.. for the girl disappointingly waiting in the tent outside. Dont worry you bloggers as soon as i get the “all clear” ill release the name… stand byyyyyyyy. ay-yooooooo

just box

This is satisfying. MPHO is a British talent like no other. A genre-defying singer, songwriter and producer, already a name to drop amongst people in the know, MPHO is set to be one of the most exciting names of 2009. Her debut single ‘Box N Locks’ is produced by acclaimed maestro, Switch.

MPHO – Box N Locks (Armand Van Helden Remix)

The package includes a remix from Herve (AKA The Count) and Armand Van Helden. To be brutally honest, Herve’s version sucks. Not a fan of the afro rhythmage.

Here We Go Now

by Barron

I have never known what the make of Mark Hunter… better known as The Cobra Snake. I mean he could possibly have the greatest job in the world, basically just following world renowned DJ’s taking photos of the messiest people in the room…getting rich. But he looks a bit like a dirty unwashed foot and his obsession with wanting to seem more “underground” than the Underground scene he captures himself, has pushed him into wearing some gay ass shit (e.g. second from right)

Boys NoizeJeffer

I seriously almost forgot about Foamo, the man went to sleep for quite a while. BUT his back bigger than ever with at least four new remixes that i have heard of. The most promising in my opinion is his take in the Franz Ferdinand track “No You Girls”. Which if i get hands hands on might have a Brain meltdown. Though running a close second and lacking in no quality is this BANG-ahhhhhh?

Diplo & Laidback Luke – Hey ! (Foamo Remix)

Dont forget to get your behinds down to Mynt Lounge this Thursday at 185 Watton street Werribee. Jamie Doom AKA Bang Gang DJ’s will be smashing the decks and the crowd, and i hear what your saying… Affirmative. things will get messy. We will be there – will you?

as much as i love melbourne,

We inhabit to many muzzas/gimps. When I heard Kissy Sell Out played tracks from his brand new ‘Youth’ album and it cleared the room at Winter Sounds – I was pissed. It’s evident that although were arguably the most culturally apt city in the world – we can’t appreciate good music. Armand Van Buuren playing a 5 hour set? Common. It’s just a recipe for disaster (and a shit load of hairspray + bad dancing)

With that out of the way, we can now appreciate the musical stylings of Kissy Sell Out. I’m really enjoying the album. Some real catchy tracks inside. BUY IT!

Two Short

by J Heasy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

As I prepared myself for my set last night at WOW, I came across a remix of “I’m Not Alone” that I didn’t like at first but after a proper listen I fell in love. It’s pretty baltimore/ravey and a real banger.

I’m Not Alone (Three Fingers Remix) – Calvin Harris

Jaime Doom, 1/5 of the Bang Gang Does the Burbs this Thursday night at MYNT Lounge. Bang Gang in your Local? Believe it.

Going to see the Hangover now laterz mang.

Poor Toe?

by Barron

Again sitting here on a seedy sunday, nursing heavy lungs, searing eyes and a sore head. Not only that but tonight i have work till midnight which is going to make the symptoms triple on the “fuck you Barrons body hangover scale”. So to ease the pain, been doing the run around to track down a few… tracks. And here are those tracks, which will be played on the work stereo to help keep me alive.

Lazy Jay – Float My Boat
In The Club - Turn You On (Mowgli Remix)
Lazy Jay has to be one of my favorite producers at the moment, but can we just agree. You CANNOT play his productions in the vicinity of anyone with a dipping V neck showing chest hair, thick gold chains, anything with an Adidas three stripe, Bumbag or Ghastly body odour, for fear of raving being used. Yes i know, i to am trying to help these poor people who think Raving is a legitimate form of dance, we will soon extinguish them all… or may god have mercy on us.

HYPE HYPE HYPE

by Sweetlove

In light of the previous post, I thought I’d shed some light on a remix that is going to absoloutly shred dance floors within the next month:

Now I’m not sure if the Beetroots’ mix of the Proxy track is coming out on July 3rd, or if the date is in relation to the CD they’re mixing for the Aussie label; but props to Onelove for filming this in conjunction with the Dim Mak marketing team who sure know how to hype the fuck out of a track [via the weeks leading up to Warp 1.9].

Anyway, I’m feeling lazy/hungover so just gonna post some random tracks.

Just gotten into these guys so I can’t tell you much about them but this track is pretty badass. But it’s got that nu wave feel to it. Driving synths and awesome chord progression [heart].

VEKTORKAT – Without U Girl

DIM is back, oh baby is he back! This is fantastic for a set rip… massive build-ups and those classic DIM squeeks.

DIM – Lyposuct [ Set Rip @ 160kbs - 3:42 ]

This next one is apparently new, but I’m sure I’ve heard it before. Still a pretty solid Herve’ production, nothing really geround breaking though. One thing you can say about Herve’ is that his sound is very consistent, and that’s not necessarily a good thing.

Herve – Who Da Champ

You all know I love GTRONIC, one of my favourite producers at the moment. His new one is an absoloute fucking killer. The first breakdown leads to a monster fucking drop so prepare for neck snaps. From what I’ve heard, expect to see this guy supporting Proxy’s next Oz tour at the end of the year.

GTRONIC – My Money
