Rain Rain, Go Away…

by Sweetlove

n12804981_30798687_2282

This weather must really be getting to me. Dreary, gusty, gail force wind days and freezing cold nights.
How I wish I lived in Brisbane right about now.
Anywho, I blame the shitty weather for my both sudden and random affliction to tech house at the moment; mainly the two DJ/Producers Laidback Luke and Afrojack.
Not to say I’ve harboured any sort of hatred for these two artists… if anything, Afrojack has always been a massive blip on my up-and-comer radar and maybe I just like Laidback Luke because he’s a Krazy AZN like me (Ke Ke LAH ^_^).
Can’t really put my finger on the clit, but lately I just can’t get enough of both these guys, so I thought I’d throw down some tracks I’ve been jamming to over the past couple of days.

DOWNLOAD: Kid Cudi ft. Common & Kanye West – Make Her Say (Afrojack Mix)
WOW… This is a fucking banger. Could easily destroy dancefloors. Classic Afrojack with a hint of Crookers.

DOWNLOAD: Dave Guetta ft. Akon – Sexy Bitch (Afrojack Mix)
Absoloutly nothing like the original… thank fuck. First drop will blow you away. Awesome, ravey, Afrojack blips.

DOWNLOAD: Spencer & Hill – Cool (Afrojack Mix)
I’d been hearing this track being played out for so long, but never got around to ID’ing it. Well, now it’s here y’all. If you like “Meth” by Afrojack, you’ll fucking love this.

DOWNLOAD: Laidback Luke & Lee Mortimer – Blau (BBC Kissy Radio Rip)
This gets a 10.7 on the scale. HUGE drop. Definatly a sound I didn’t expect coming from LBL… One thing I can say about the man is that he’s versatile as all fuck.

DOWNLOAD: Dave Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland – When Love Takes Over (Laidback Luke Mix)
Before you say anything…. FUCK YOU I KNOW. It’s a cheesy track, the vocals are horrible and the piano sample is ripped from another track. But that’s the original… the LBL mix is actually quite good. But please LBL if your reading this; which he more than likely is… RELEASE A FUCKING DUB.

DOWNLOAD: Jean Claude Ades & Vincent Thomas – Shingaling
Nothing to do with either featured artist, but I’ve been thrashing the shit out of this track. Awesome sample for the breakdown and that bassline is just fucking cool.

BONUS: Fever Ray – Seven (Crookers Mix)

PS: Mynt turns 2 this Thursday! Get ready for some hardcore lesbian fisting shinanigans and straight up drunken forced intercourse debauchery nuggaz.

And fellow Party Aiders - J Heasy and WTRS
Be there or be… triangle?

Riva Starr

by jake

gossip_LLD

Gossip burst back into our consciousness with ‘Heavy Cross’ earlier this year and they’re back again with ‘Love Long Distance’… a pure disco master class, featuring the formidable lungs of Beth Ditto with a back drop of house piano and a stomping bassline.

DOWNLOAD: Gossip – Love Long Distance (Riva Starr Remix Vocal)

I’m sure by now you’ve already acquired the Fake Blood edition, so I thought i’d provide you with something equally delicious. Riva Starr is quickly becoming my favorite Italian, his pummeling percussive grooves, echoing vocals and stuttering electronica is starting to hijack my iTunes. I’m eagerly awaiting his ‘I Was Drunk’ EP which is rumored to be released late next month. The video is amazing (produced by one Riva Starr aswell) there isn’t much this guy can’t do.

Flowers Bloom

by Barron

Untitled

Well it has been quite some time since I have last posted, though there is a valid reason. I was experiencing some technical difficulty, but now that’s out of the way I can post the songs that have been smashing my headphones and speakers for the last couple of weeks. The first one is by the Bag Raiders and Amy Meredith, for those that don’t know they are both Australian outfits, born and bred in Sydney… and yep you guessed it! Its there new Shooting Stars track that has been given the mash. Let me say Amy Meredith provide another dimension to this track that get your feet tapping.

Bagraiders Vs. Amy Meredith – Shooting Stars (Double Trouble Mash Up)

This second track took a little surfing and searching to get a hold of, but it was worth the effort. Quite a mainstream sounding track that throws out a happy and upbeat sound. The producer Party Sausage better known as A1 Bassline and Tek-One smashed this piece out of his kit a little while ago. Though as far my collective knowledge tells me, it hasn’t been thrashed on radio or in the club scene. So get yo hands on it.

Tick Tock…

by Sweetlove

warped

So hey, it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Quite frankly, the new layout has scared me into submission. But after several meetings and psycho analysisisisissies (sp?), I’ve managed to overcome my fears and start posting some choons!

I thought I’d start off slow and ease it in… just the tip. With the slew of amazing remixes for the MSTRKRFT/John Legend track “Heartbreaker”, it’s a breath of fresh air to hear something a little toned down and just plain ‘ol sexy. Jump Jump Dance Dance are Australian label Etc Etc’s newest signing. One half of the new Cali based duo is none other than Simon Lewicki… who you might know under his former psuedonym GT; or better yet, 1/2 of former electro outfit Tonite Only (RIP y’all). Could easily hear this in a 9PM Mynt set from WTRS.

MSTRKRFT ft. John Legend – Heartbreaker (Jump Jump Dance Dance Mix)

Now most of you would have heard this, but suprisingly alot of people I’ve spoken to HAVEN’T. Everyone knows Daft Punk are currently in the studio composing the original score for the 2010 sequal of one of my all time favourite movies… fucking TRON. Here’s the “leaked” 320kbs sample of the Tron Legacy theme (formally known as TR2N). AMAZING!

Daft Punk – Tron Legacy Theme

Wolfgang Gartner is easily becoming one of my favourite producers at the moment. His productions are fucking top notch and in my opinion, he is yet to miss a beat. His newest production “Push and Rise” is no exception. It’s light, fun, catchy, so very easy to dance to and for those playing at home… mixes in perfectly with the Slamball Mix of “Turbo Love” by Bagraiders.

Wolfgang Gartner – Push & Rise

I can hear some of you now. “ZOMG WTF, this isn’t Sweetlove? Where’s all the bangers and neck snappers I usually find peppered all over his posts?”
Well, here you fucking go…
Ado! is Scottish.
Ado! destroys necks.
Ado! is easily the heavy metal of electro.
Ado! is just plain ol’ fucking AWESOME.

Ado! – Plugged !!!!!!!!!
Ado! – Debt Call
Ado! – Junk
Ado! – Decepticons 2

Crook Beats

by jake

FD-TRCR-PROMO

La Roux skyrocketed onto your ipod’s this year with the help of outstanding remixes from Skream and Zinc… with this third single she once again displays that brilliant ability to create a package highlighting the hottest upcoming DJ / production artistes of today.

‘I’m Not Your Toy’ showcases her unique ability to blend her softly toned vocals with any beat… here she manipulates the 80s back lines n synthy effects and creates another future-proof pop gem! The remixes are otherworldly… Jack Beats have become perhaps the most talked about new production team with their recent bass bomb ‘U.F.O.’ taking things to the next level… here they turn out another organ grinder… intertwining bass lines intoxicated with La Roux’s luscious vocals for a full dance floor workout that is the perfect mix of ‘song’ and dancefloor dynamics.

Crookers are back with what can only be described as ‘vintage italiano horn.’ I approach every new Crookers production with no expectations and an open mind because you never know what they’re about to subject you to. I heard this on Jaymo & Andy George almost a month ago and was wondering whether it was going to get a release or it was going to be leaked. How do you say ‘leaked in full quality’ in italian? marco?

Don’t be a monkey

by Barnz

monkey

So its been a while since my last post, mainly because i’m lazy and can never be bothered with anything. If you didn’t catch the’ Mashed’ show at WOW with Miami Horror and Beni last weekend, then you thoroughly missed out, not only on the fruits of musical genius, but also on my a topless all night!

So coming up we got a party at Q-Bar on September 4th featuring Andy Murphy, Boogs, Tranterco and Harris Robotis! Plus many of our local heroes including James Fava, Rob Pix, and PartyAids guru’s J Heasy and Mr H20 himself

Time for some music:

Not your typical dancey stuff, but WTRS told me to post other music if i wanted also, so im taking full advantage of that until he warns me not to anymore. Arctic Monkeys new album; set to be released on the 24th of this month, its nothing like their other two albums.. In saying that the new songs aren’t as punchy or fast as their other two albums – Still a great listen though!

I’ll write again in a few months.

Don Diablo actually isn’t from France (Believe it or not)

by jake

dondiabloisnotfromfrance

Alas, it’s the weekend. I’m not going to make this post too lengthy because I know you’ve got your FarmVille crops to take care of and what not. And i’m still tweaking the site so if you find an imperfection, keep it to yourself – hopefully it will be fixed soon.

For those who didn’t know, Don Diablo is not from France….no really, he is not from France!  The Dutchman is proud to unleash the first bomb from his forthcoming album – ‘I Am Not From France’ with remixing duties from the one and only (my personal favorite) Louis la Roche. You’re allowed to have this high quality as well, aren’t you spoilt. Now get back to your strawberry crops muddafuckers!
