“it’s just a trumpet, looped”

by jake

gypsyOh it’s so much more than just a looped trumpet. It’s a destination, a celebration, a lifestyle.

Riva Starr had the motivation to make this after meeting ‘proper Gypsy dudes’ while touring in Romania. I too met a Gypsy once. His name was Dave and he lived under my house. He never really asked for much, just that I try out his new card games, in which he made a living. I’ll tell you a little bit more about Gypsy Dave another time. In the mean time, ‘Fanfarone’ will be released on Riva’s new album ‘If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade’ in January. Thanking you RCRD LBL.

now wake the fuck up

So it’s basically the most important time in my life at the moment, about to sit my wonderful exams. I’ve clearly got my priorities in order by sitting here talking shit and sharing tunage. If I could take all the orgasms in the world, put them in a blender, take a chilled cup from the freeze, pour the shakegasm into a cup and then present it in chart form – it would look something like this.

1. Busta Rhymes – Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See (Valerna Remix)

This reminds me of a scene out of the movies, you know where the scared ethnic guy is about to die? It’s inevitable that his going to die but he runs anyway? Yeah.. if that was converted to sound.

2. Fever Ray – Seven (The Twelves Remix)

On a slightly lighter note, The Twelves never cease to amaze me. I mean, theres not much ‘wow’ about this track but it’s just solid.. and bouncy. I highly recommended these two team up again.

3. Doves – Brazil  (Aeroplane Remix)

Sadly i’m not able to bring you the mp3 or a preview (and i’m not showing off) but when this is leaked/released, you’ll be asking be asking me why i’ve got it at #3.

4. Steve Aoki – I’m In The House

It’s weird that I discovered this on nova. Could possibly be a sign though, most blogs do control the quality of there posts. In any case, I know for a fact a few people out there will enjoy this. I’m scared to admit it, but I even enjoyed it a little bit. Don’t tell anyone… seriously.

5.  Angger Dimas – Fight Club (Rob Pix Remix)

Afrojack eat your heart out. Although this is a little bit more controlled from Picolo. Something about this makes me want punch cats? anyone else feelin’ it? barnz?

6. Rusko – Cockney Thug

7. Vampire Weekend – Everywhere (Fleetwood Mac cover)

8. The Toxic Avenger – The Fall (Switch Remix)

9. Munk – Down In L.A. (Shazam remix)

10. Fires Of Rome – Set In Stone (Dada Life Remix)

Jackin My Fresh

by Barron

275204_f520

You enter the world as an energy, totally aware, totally open and totally knowledgeable. Everything you need to achieve the goals in your life is given to you. The seven-year cycles are a flow, a rhythm. It is not something cut and dried. You may feel it coming or going two years in advance or two years later as it builds, peaks, and wanes. The seven-year cycles are an evolutionary spiral. They belong to every being that has ever been created. There is no one who does not go through them.

So it goes that in 2009 3 Producers from the South Coast come into their 3rd Cycle.. both cycle’s before had brought there own High’s and Low’s, but what they always bring was freshness and change.. from the Ashes of their 2nd cycle comes BLACK NOISE..

If you’re tickled by any of Afrojacks material, you’ll enjoy this. It falls, it rises, it explodes. Rob Pix’s devastating dance floor weapons are inspired by the likes of Daft Punk, The Neptunes and Groove Armada. Having more recently worked side by side with Andy Van of Madison Avenue and Vandalism fame, to establish his technique and demand energy levels which are never less than stunning.

Selling over 25’000 copies across Oz with his first official remix to landing an assistant role at Australia’s biggest independent dance label ‘Vicious;’ Rob Pix’s laidback demeanor is demonstrated through his exhibition of radio smashes to underground classics.

It’s difficult for people with such generic, stock standard names to make it in this world.. and when I say world, I do mean the one and only Google Search. Annie is having to compete with musicals, orphans and performance parts? Not to mention the battle of lyrics for ‘best female “i can do it alone” role’ with the likes of Ladyhawke, La Roux (sort of) and Little Boots all in the mix.

With all the hype surrounding the other 3 girls recently, it seems we (and google search) have somewhat forgotten about Annie. But the beauty of forgetting is; you can remember quickly and with Annie set to release her album ‘Don’t Stop’ on November 17 it seems the tide is set to change. Props to discodust for the track and photo.

GROW UP EP – SWICK

by J Heasy

SWICK is a good friend and music buddy of mine and WTRS and has been sending us the bestest of tunes for ages. The Kid is only 17 and just signed his track “Grow Up” (featured in video above) to Ajax’s label Sweat it Out!

The EP is out in December – Be sure to watch out for it and watch out for SWICK, the future is bright!

You  can hear the track in full in my mixtape a few posts back

Also check out Sgt Slick’s edit of his and Rob Pix’s track “Behind the Sun“. Can’t explain it, just listen, pretty funny :)

Political Fat Cats

by Barron

greed_detox

Hey you political fat cats..  I bet you forgot all about Proxy. I agree it has been a little while since his musical genius has fired, but just let me say this could be “that” next infamous track. It actually is a pretty mellow track and easily in my top couple of tracks for the month. Yeshhh i hear you.. i know what your thinking, Barron why should we download this when i could just as easily put the downloads to use in a more constructive task… like Youjizz or Redtube? Well trust me, with the amount of repeats this will have you can just thank me in money donations.. take care for now my fellow aiders.
